Are YOU getting enough? It is easy to assume that as long as you allow yourself 8 hours sleep that’s enough. BUT, is it the right kind of sleep?
For the last couple of weeks I have been having broken nights; waking up at stupid o’clock, tossing and turning, unable to drift off again, my head full of brain worms!
So, last Monday I took the (painful!) decision to give up my ONE glass of red wine in the evening. The result of such a simple change has been amazing!
Since then I have slept through the night; no waking up needing to wee, no tossing and turning and – best of all – I have SO much more energy each day.
I am not saying I will never have alcohol again but whilst it can definitely make you sleepy it would seem that it encourages the WRONG kind of sleep – and at my age I need all the beauty sleep I can get!
