Living Life Naturally

When Cleopatra built the very first spa all those years ago it was so she could take full advantage of the amazing properties offered by the Dead Sea. Cleopatra is said to have maintained her beauty with Dead Sea Salts. It is today well known for its therapeutic benefits.

The waters of the Dead Sea are recognised for their therapeutic and medical effects. Normal sea water is 3 percent salt. The Dead Sea contains 27 percent of various salts. The minerals present in these salts include magnesium, potassium, calcium chloride and bromides. It is beneficial for those suffering from muscle pain, insomnia,  joint disorders  stress and skin disorders such as eczema and psoriasis.

Magnesium: This mineral is used to alleviate stress, prevent fluid retention, have a calming effect on the body’s nervous system and slow the aging of skin.
Dead Sea Salts also contain calcium, an important element for strengthening bones, teeth, and nails. It also is rich in bromides, which help muscles relax and reduce stiffness in the body’s limbs. Potassium in Dead Sea Salts is important for athletes. It works as an energy lifter, and it replenishes essential minerals lost after extreme exercise.

With this in mind I have produced a blend called Dead Sea Detox. It contains a mix of Dead Sea Salt, Epsom Salts, coarse sea salt, bicarbonate of soda and essential oils of juniper, fennel, lemon and grapefruit.

Simply throw a couple of handfuls into warm running water and swirl to dissolve the salts. Now lie back and relax and let the salts work their magic…………..
